Erasmus+ Project

On April 23rd 2018 the project e-Democracy Tools are the Future: a Canvas-driven approach is submitted for Erasmus+ funding.  Estonian School, Both Social en Drawing to Health as a joint Dutch projectteam have drawn the project application. We also have found 8 excellent project partners from Europe.

The project “e-Democracy Tools are the Future: a Canvas-driven approach” has 4 objectives;

1) To provide a concise collection of 30 Best Practice e-Democracy Tools that are available in different EU-countries.

2) To provide user-oriented sample analyses of the e-Democracy Tools with respect to the impact on communities, especially on young persons.

3) To establish a tested and operational Canvas-model for analyzing and improving e-Democracy Tools in Europe.

4) To activate and use the combined knowledge and experience of adults and young persons from different EU-countries on e-Democracy Tools in the EU.

The motivation of the project is rooted in a firm believe of the benefits of Open Government in Europe:

Open Government in Europe, both for the EU institutes and for the European governments is an important objective for Europe.

The use of e-Democracy Tools stimulates Open Government in Europe, because it claims that the people in Europe – also young persons – will more easily participate in and have influence on policy making and active citizenship.

Collecting and comparing the Best Practices of e-Democracy Tools provided by the participants themselves (bottom up approach) allows for improvement, because participants exchange and discuss value, usefulness and accessibility of these tools.
